COVID-19 Response
Donation Changes
Donations are accepted on Mon/Thurs between 8:30-11:30 and Tues/Fri between 11:00-3:00. Please drive to the North side of the building and honk your horn or knock on the door. A staff member will come get your donation. If those hours don’t work for you, please email or call us to set up an alternate time.
Client Service Changes
Our priorities are always to keep our community healthy and to ensure our neighbors have access to basic needs. The health and well-being of our clients, volunteers, and staff is very important to us. We also realize that our services are very important at this time.
The Tri-City Food Pantry will be open during normal pantry hours; however,to protect our clients, volunteers and staff, our process has been changed. Here are a few details clients will need to know and follow to receive a food pantry going forward:
1. Cars can start to line up by the orange cone outside the small door (Stop 1) at the front of the building. There will be orange cones signaling where to stop with the drivers door facing the building. Clients should have their trunk ready to receive their pantry.
2. One volunteer will approach vehicles to assist.
3. Clients/or designated pick up person should roll down window and hand out the Client’s ID, piece of mail (and voucher if applicable) .
4. The volunteers will then hand back documents once we’ve gone inside and entered their information.
5. Clients will then drive to the garage door (Stop 2) and items will be loaded into the trunk as normal. We ask that all clients stay in their vehicles.
6.Please be patient as we serve you and know that the process should go quickly.
Clients are encouraged to come during daytime hours if possible as they have a less wait time. We will continue to remain open, monitor the situation and follow instructions by local government and health departments as needed. Any updates will be given through email, our website and our Facebook page. If you have any questions, you are encouraged to contact us through email or our phone.
Sarpy Co. Residents Delivery
The Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office has offered to expand their program on picking up groceries to our pantry clients that live in Sarpy County.
The Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office, along with Sarpy County Human Services, has established a Help Line for the citizens of Sarpy County during the COVID-19 pandemic event. Starting March 20, 2020, people who are sick, elderly, or caretakers of this demographic in Sarpy County may call the Sarpy County Sheriff Helpline at 402-593-1593 for needs such as picking up prescriptions, groceries, or other necessities. A uniformed Sarpy County Sheriff’s Deputy will pick up and deliver these items in a marked police cruiser.
Once a referral is called in, the client may call the helpline to schedule a pickup of a pantry. They will need to tell them what toiletries they might be in need of. This can be picked up at the pantry on Tues or Friday between 11-3. The Sheriff will not need to bring the clients ID or piece of mail. If the client has a return voucher, they can also call the Sheriff’s helpline to pickup their pantry.
Sat – Sun: Closed *Clients must arrive at least 10 minutes before closing to receive services
The pantry is closed on holidays
